Publisher's Synopsis

New Orleans is one of the places on earth where celebration is how the people cope with everything from life to death. Mardi Gras is no exception. The year 2021 found the world in a pandemic. As safety was the most important goal for mankind, the Mayor of New Orleans, along with other officials, made the determination that Mardi Gras would not occur making the season historically somber for the citizens of the city and annual visitors; or so it seemed.

The people, as well as, visitors from across the globe, are accustomed to extravagant floats, marching bands, walking bands, dance groups, flambeau carriers, Indian Tribes, formal balls and many others sights that make Mardi Gras the unique event that it is. Mardi Gras is a culture, not just an event for the people of New Orleans. So, without the normal sights of the season, the citizens of the city, in all courage and excitement turned homes, business and mansions into floats in a display of resilience to not allow the culture to die.

While every single property could not be captured, this photographic walk is dedicated to the citizens of New Orleans.
