Publisher's Synopsis
Triple bill of children's features. 'Marmaduke' (2010) is a part live action, part CGI-animated family comedy based on the long-running comic strip. When the Winslow family moves from Kansas to Orange County with their goofy, accident-prone Great Dane, Marmaduke (voiced by Owen Wilson), the big dog experiences all kinds of trouble fitting in with his new canine neighbours. The film also features the voice talents of Emma Stone, William H. Macy, Steve Coogan and Kiefer Sutherland. In 'Dunston Checks In' (1995) the owner of a five-star hotel, Mrs Dubrow (Faye Dunaway), has discovered that a prestigious hotel guide-book is about to anonymously assess her hotel for its six-star potential. Determined that the hotel will pass the inspection, Dubrow cancels leave for employees and sets about making sure everything is in perfect order. Unfortunately for her, Lord Rutledge (Rupert Everett), a jewel thief who uses an Orangutan called Dunston as his accomplice, has just checked in. When Dunston manages to get lost in the hotel and is befriended by a young boy, the chaos that results isn't exactly the image of the hotel the owner had wished to project. 'Firehouse Dog' (2007) follows the adventures of Rex, Hollywood's top-grossing canine. Known for his extreme athletic abilities and diva-like demeanor, Rex demands - and receives - the perks befitting his A-list status. Unfortunately, an accident that occurs while Rex is shooting a commercial leads his handlers to presume he's dead. But Rex is merely lost - alone, filthy and unrecognisable in an unfamiliar city. Hunted by animal control, he takes refuge in grubby abandoned lofts, a far cry from his former luxurious lifestyle.
