Publisher's Synopsis
Hilary Swank and Brenda Blethyn star as two mothers brought together by tragedy in this drama written by Richard Curtis and directed by Philip Noyce. Mary (Swank) loses her young son, George (Lux Hanley-Jardine), to malaria after taking him on an African adventure. Martha (Blethyn)'s son, Ben (Sam Claflin), also dies from the disease after doing voluntary work at a Mozambique orphanage. After reacting differently to their grief - Mary returns to the US to campaign for greater awareness of the disease, while Martha journeys to Africa to work at her son's orphanage - the two women eventually come together and embark on a shared journey to change things for the better.
