Publisher's Synopsis
Box set containing three sci-fi thrillers. In 'Mimic' (1997), three years after creating the Judas breed - a new species of insect - in order to wipe out plague-carrying cockroaches, Dr Susan Tyler (Mira Sorvino) worries that the breed may have evolved. Along with her husband Peter (Jeremy Northam) and their assistant Josh (Josh Brolin), they travel the subways looking for Judas specimens. Meanwhile, 8-year-old Chuy (Alexander Goodwin) disappears after investigating shadowy figures at the local chapel, and his grandfather Manny (Giancarlo Giannini) sets out to track him down. Both Manny and Susan make a terrible discovery - the Judas insects have developed the ability to take on human form, and are now set to destroy mankind. In 'Mimic 2' (2002), Bruno Campos plays police detective Klaski, who discovers a link when three hideously mutilated men are found hanged in New York City: all three men knew entomologist Remi (Alix Koromzay), a teacher at a high school in the city. But is Remi a muder suspect, or the victim of a darker force? 'Mimic - Sentinel' (2003) begins after the cockroach plague of the first film devastated New York City. It follows Marvin (Karl Geary), a young man whose various respiratory illnesses have forced him to live in a protected plastic encasing. Saddled with being known as the bubble boy as well as with a dysfunctional family, Marvin retreats to his own corner of the world, which is whatever he can see out of his bedroom window. However, when the flesh hungry mutated cockroaches invade the neighbourhood, Marvin must band together with his family to survive.
