Máirtìn Ó Cadhain was appointed as an Irish lecturer in Trinity College Dublin's Irish Department in 1956. He was a Professor of Irish at the time of his death in 1970. This book comprises of lectures that were given at Máirtìn Ó Cadhain 2020, a day conference organised by the Irish Department as a celebration of his life and his work, half a century after his death. Both personal and academic papers are included here. The book opens with an address by Seán Ó Cadhain, which kicked off the conference. Cathal Ó Háinle discusses Ó Cadhain's letters to Eoghan Ó hAodha. Mìcheál Briody examines Ó Cadhain's papers in Trinity College and in other archives. Gearóid Denvir shares his memories of Ó Cadhain with us. Alan Titley addresses the challenges involved in translating Ó Cadhain's Works. Colm Ó Cuaig and Charles Dillon give us an overview of Máirtìn's lexicographic work, and Máirìn Nic Eoin, Máire Nì Annracháin, Caitlìn Nic Íomhair, Ian Ó Caoimh and Pádraig de Paor focus on various aspects of Ó Cadhain's creative literature.
