When clandestine trysts no longer satisfy, Quentin throws himself head first into an affair that may well cost him his heart. Quentin's sole distraction from the monotony of life in the small town of Bastion Falls has been a string of meaningless but satisfying one-night stands with men whose names he doesn't know and whose stories he doesn't care to hear. Everything changes when dapper city boy Pierce comes to town. All it takes is one look for Quentin to know he doesn't trust the yuppie. He's too clean-shaven, his shoes are too shiny and he acts as though he has Quentin all figured out. As events conspire to throw him into Pierce's path, Quentin quickly learns that keeping his distance may not be all that simple-and that Pierce's path may be harder to navigate than he'd first thought.
