Publisher's Synopsis
My Beloved Poilus is a book written by Agnes Warner in 1917. The book is a collection of letters that Warner wrote to her family and friends during her time as a nurse in France during World War I. The letters provide a first-hand account of the experiences of a nurse during the war, including the conditions in the hospitals, the injuries and illnesses of the soldiers, and the emotional toll of caring for the wounded. Warner also writes about her interactions with the soldiers, whom she affectionately calls ""my beloved poilus"" (a term for French infantry soldiers). The book offers a unique perspective on the war and the role of women in it, as well as a glimpse into the personal life of a nurse on the front lines. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
