Publisher's Synopsis

This little book tells of the sad but inspiring story of a father and his addicted son coming together in the valley of the shadow of death. There is poignancy, sadness but also love and redemption. It is inspiring and will give hope and help to thousands who struggle with drug addiction in their families . The book carries a message: 'do not turn a blind eye to drug abuse in your family'. The book will give comfort that there are supporting forces for good; that can ease the burden of suffering such as the incredibly wonderful hospice movement, and palliative care support agencies. About the author: Anthony James wrote this memoir following the death of his son, he says it was very cathartic for him. Anthony is in his early seventies and though retired he now writes full time and is working on his third novel. His earlier works, "Smiles in Africa" a novel is already published and he anticipates his second novel "The Poisoned Banquet" being published in 2012 . He also writes for magazines and publications mainly in the Caribbean where he winters with his wife Dawn. He has one surviving daughter Victoria who all can see is a much loved daughter.j Publisher Comments I don't know what to say. A book has never made me weep from page one before. It is certainly remarkable and deeply moving. I also believe it is important. Lorretta McCloughlan (former Editor Boston Globe) A brave and poignant story, it's an emotional roller coaster. I could not put it down. I seldom weep, but weep I did, many times as I read this wonderful little book. Jonathan Eig - Best selling Biographer USA I was moved.
