His relentless search has driven him into the forbidden forest that borders the territory of Lord Nimrul, the enemy of all that is holy. The Friars, a rival monastery, wish to use the power to raise an army of undead wizards, the ultimate weapon against Nimrul. But such an act would defy the word of God, and shatter the monk's vows. As suspicion and fear engulf the monastery, Jacob is falsely accused of arcane summoning, and he is expelled. Joining up with a wizard and a brave but hot-headed amazon, he sets out into a world of magic and wonder, a world at the brink of a new dawn of evil...
