Luke Peters is a sixteen-year-old boy with a head like a piñata, not in shape or color. His head is like a piñata because of the prize that comes from cracking his skull open. He's thrust into a world of magic, monsters and high-strangeness. He wakes one morning, and in short order, he meets a boy with a metal baseball bat in his hand and a demon calling the shots. Luke finds himself ensnared in a war between two unseen factions. Somehow, he's the linchpin for ending this war.
