Georgie Adams' and Anna C. Leplar's THE FIRST CHRISTMAS was widely welcomed as a uniquely simple and straightforward retelling for the very youngest, among a mass of more elaborate versions. It has had two successful Christmases in hardback, was a paperback exclusive for W H Smith, and is going into paperback this autumn. Book club orders total 19,000 copies and it has so far sold to the US, Iceland and Holland, with further European orders expected to run with the papaerback. Now Noah's Ark gets the same treatment -- simple and charming, with soft watercolours, and a refreshing change from the many comic versions on the market. Given the universal popularity of the story, we expect a similiar response from the trade and coedition publishers.
