Publisher's Synopsis
A band of child pickpockets leads Angel, Cordelia and Doyle to Jusef, a wealthy Indonesian businessman with a mild crush on Cordelia and a passionate love for Megawati, a beautiful woman with a terminal illness. 'Meg' and Jusef perform together in a musical band, but it's not long before Angel uncovers Jusef's more covert source of revenue - illegal sweatshops, where he employs (and exploits) a host of immigrants.
To make matters worse, a recent crime wave has swept Los Angeles, and homicide victims have been found with one common link: all of their bodies have been burned from the inside out. Angel knows that Jusef is a slumlord, but he's beginning to think that the ruthless man is a supernatural murderer, as well. But if Meg, who harbours a soft spot for Angel, knows anything about it, she's not telling...
