Adam had six months to go before he could retire from the Space Intelligence Agency, when the fateful call came through his fedcom at three in the morning. He was a senior enforcer agent, ordered to an emergency off-world assignment to prevent a group of Saganite radicals from launching a rogue spaceship to the planet known as Omega. Contact with beings from other worlds is illegal in the year 3024. Trying to leave the Human Economic Zone and go meet them is considered attempted murder of the human race. Punishable by death.
