Publisher's Synopsis
An ordinary and moving family story: over a hill, to the end of a path, an old house by a winding, sparkling stream. 12 children are born and raised in this old house, where they eat, sleep, play, do chores, and occasionally misbehave. Their growth can be measured by the markings on the walls as they milk cows, fish in the creek, laugh in their dormitory-like rooms, and share secrets and dreams. They grew up in this old house, accompanying each other into the future. Later, the children gradually left the house to go to school, work and start their own families. Even the younger one left the house and was no longer young. As time goes by, the old house gradually falls into disrepair, but only the animals that live in it still witness the warm days of the old house.
