Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Open Sesame: One Hundred Answers in Rhyme to William Bellamy's Century of Charades
Within a few days of its publication, Mr. Bellamy's fascinating Century of Charades passed through my hands on its way to a shelf in the Berkshire Athenaeum. Never was more clearly demonstrated the proverb, The librarian who reads is lost.

Piqued by the intricacy of many of the riddles, I determined to solve them all.
