The war is over and it's Christmas. Penelope and her grandmother are looking forward to being reunited with Penny's father and sisters. However, during the year that they've been apart, Penny feels like her sisters have grown up without her. She quickly learns that her father wants to take her and her sisters back to Halifax with him, to become a family again.
