Blair Parker is one of New York's most renowned defense attorneys. When she is called to defend the woman suspected of brutally murdering one of New York's elite members of society, Victor Channing, she meets Cassandra Greene. The British twenty-six year old pianist storms into her life and Blair is forced to face her most hidden desires. In his demented state, he demands Casey also face the fire and as Blair is removed from the inferno, she watches the building burn and with it the only woman she has ever loved. Later, she discovers that Casey lives and they have another chance at love and life.
