Publisher's Synopsis
Laura is growing up, and the family's boundaries are extending beyond Lark Rise to include Candleford, a fantastic metropolis to children from a small village. A visit is arranged to see relatives, and Laura learns of a larger world. Eventually, Laura feels more at home there than in Lark Rise and when the time comes that she must decide her future, it is to Candleford that she elects to go.
