Publisher's Synopsis

The "Password" series is a six-level course for primary schools in the Caribbean. It introduces the structures/functions of English through a variety of activities. Each level focuses on building vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading and writing. This pupil's book is on level four. The course acknowledges the diversity of West Indian speech while providing a grounding in standard English, both spoken and written. The activities include songs and rhymes, and should provide a systematic approach to practical language skills. The emphasis is on competence and confidence in using a variety of registers and on building vocabulary in a wide range of contexts, both local and international. The basics of scientific and mathematical discourse are also presented.;Optional workbooks are available for levels 1-6 of "Password". These provide additional practice in matching, reading and writing. Each level of "Password" has its own Teacher's Book, containing step-by-step lesson plans and suggestions for further activities.
