Peace and Turbulence is a collection of poems by Sarban Bhattacharya. The poems in this book range from delicate romantic poetry to celebratory verse on popular figures, satires and commentary on recent socio-political events. Some of his poems are tender and sensual, and the rest poilitical. The poet has been very keen and insightful on recent socio-political changes observed in India, America and the UK, with particular emphasis on cultural politics. He has a conservative political orientation, and he is an ardent supporter of the free world, which, he believes, can extricate mankind from the miseries of the post-Covid world. Sarban Bhattacharya is a young poet, currently pursuing a master's degree in English literature at the University of Calcutta. He takes great interest in reading and writing metrical verse, and he had already written and published a book of poetry called 'The Tentation of Hadrian and Other Poems'(2018).
