Plaster Saints is a humorous play written by Israel Zangwill and first published in 1914. The play is divided into three movements and follows the story of a wealthy American named Henry Blount, who has recently converted to Catholicism and is eager to show off his newfound faith. Blount decides to commission a statue of Saint George to be placed in his garden, but things quickly go awry when the sculptor he hires turns out to be an atheist and the model for the statue is a young woman who is more interested in flirting with Blount than posing for the sculpture. As the play unfolds, Blount's faith is tested as he realizes that the people around him are not as devout as he thought and that his own motivations for converting may not have been entirely pure.
