..".Even the great Sir Arthur Pinero has recently written an admirable domestic science one-act farce on the servant problem, called "Playgoers." It is the story of a young couple who wish to give their servants a treat and offer to send them to the theater for an evening's Pleasure. The problems that immediately result are very amusing and, though an English household of servants differs materially from an American, the play could easily be adapted to an American setting, We didn't have to hunt long be- fore we had at least a dozen good domestic science plays suitable for parlor theatricals. They were all of one-act with the setting either in the kitchen, dining room, or living room and so were easy to stage. And above all they abounded in live lines on home subjects and dealt with domestic scenes and problems."
