Publisher's Synopsis
ABOUT GERARD F. KEOGH
I came into this world during a terrific thunderstorm in Newark, New Jersey. The lights went out and I came out. I am the firstborn son of Irish immigrants Teresa McNally Keogh of County Monaghan and Gerard Francis Keogh of County Limerick. I am one of seven children - four boys and three girls. My parents made sure that I got a good education by attending Catholic schools during my youth. I attended Saint Rose of Lima Grammar School, Newark, New Jersey. I attended Saint Benedicts Preparatory School in Newark, New Jersey. I attended Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. I worked in the United States Post Office for the next twenty-eight years and I took early retirement. In the ensuing years, I found varied work in different fields until I returned to school on-line and secured a B.A. degree in Secondary Education. I am happily married to my wife, Susan, and I have a houseful of animals who love me so much that I simply must love them back with the same level of affection. This book marks an exciting new chapter in my life.
POEMS FROM A PASSER-BY
This is a lifetime of observations that have found their way into poetic form. Soon there were enough of them in various forms of verses, both formal and free, to cause those closest to me to utter that hoary time honored query: "Why don't you write a book?" Finally, the convergence of time, circumstances, quantity and quality of poetry was right to pursue such an undertaking.
I can only venture a guess as to what reactions, if any, there will be to any single entry contained herein. But my curiosity has overridden my humility and so I would invite you all to comment at your leisure at Gerardkeoghjr@ gmail.com. Just the basic fact that you might care to comment at all is a compliment in itself. As for myself, all I can conclude with is "ENJOY!" and "THANK YOU!"
