"Popcorn" is a course for 6-12 year olds, encouraging them to be active learners. It engages and maintains their interest through lively stories, games, songs, rhymes, drama, projects and craft work - activities that are fun as well as educational. "Popcorn" reflects the varying interests and abilities of learners in the 6-12 age range. The course develops at the same pace as the learners who are using it, both in terms of language and conceptual ability.;In Levels 1-3 (ages 6-9), pupils follow the lives of American schoolchildren of their own age. They are encouraged to compare their lives with those of the characters they see in the story. In Level 1 the emphasis is on speaking and listening, with a gradual introduction to simple reading and writing. By Levels 2 and 3, children are encouraged to broaden their horizons. Work is incorporated from other areas of the school curriculum, and topic units are introduced in Level 3.
