Edward Tyson Allen (1875-1942) was born in New Haven, Connecticut. He was a Forester for the Western Forestry and Conservation Association (Formerly U. S. District Forester for Oregon, Washington and Alaska). His works include: The Western Hemlock (1902), Practical Forestry in the Pacific Northwest (1911), Forests, Lumber and the Consumer (1914), America's Transition From Old Forests to New (1923) and Forest Preservation and its Relation to Public Revenue and Taxation (1927).
