This work dealing with the Great War provides facsimile documents from the archives of the Public Record Office. It is intended to support the teaching of the National Curriculum category A supplementary study unit "Britain and the Great War" for Year 9 NC History. Some of the documents should also be useful for Key Stage 4 work.;The book contains over 70 photocopiable pages. The documents themselves and the questions accompanying them have been chosen by practising teachers. The material is directed at the full range of Attainment Targets, with a particular emphasis on strand C and ATs 2 and 3. The design of the book is flexible enough to allow use of the material in a range of courses, and the approach is enquiry-based to encourage concentration on the key questions raised by the focus statement for the Programme of Study. The book is suitable for homework, class-based work and also provides opportunities for IT and cross-curricular work.
