Quantitative pathology is essentially a means of measuring histological samples in the diagnosis and prognosis of disease. The techniques described include: morphometry, photometry, flow cytometry, three–dimensional reconstruction and expert systems. These techniques measure cell count which is an important indicator of malignant tumours and other forms of cancer.
