Mary Ann Carroll was the sole woman of the black Florida artists known as the Legendary Highwaymen artists. The Florida Hall of Fame Artists achieved fame for their historical story of having to sell their art from their cars along Florida highways during the Jim Crow era. She raised her seven children alone by art.
