Details the author's search for the religious roots of his parents' families in Northern Italy and Sicily. It is a personal story of the first decades of the author's families' lives in Chicago. His mother's northern Italian ancestors were Protestant, while his father's family were Sicilian Catholics. The author and his siblings were raised in the faith of the longest-surviving Protestant reform church as well as in the unique warmth of their Sicilian Catholic relations.
