Cantor has talents; he's an in demand minstrel, a high end thief, and a middling magic user. As far as he's concerned, this is enough, but...no one cares what he thinks, and he's sent into the wilderness on a quest to enhance his magical abilities.
He's summoned by a mentor who's supposed to refine his raw talents, but that mentor, Robin, is incapable of performing the ceremony; her powers are in chaos, and she's as likely to turn him into a rock as any kind of mage. Exasperated, Cantor tries to walk away, but to his and Robin's distress, he can't - the strange, broken magic infecting her has bound them together.
Someone, or something, has twisted the laws of magic. Can Cantor and Robin find who's responsible and break the curse? And can they survive each other's company long enough to do so?
Sword and sorcery action and adventure, found family, a trickster goddess and her dragon shifter, tied up with splashes of (very) slow burn romance and humor.
