The Indian Mutiny has almost run its course, but there are still battles to be fought. Lieutenant Jack Crossman, posted to India from his adventures in the Crimea, finds himself plagued by Captain Deighnton, who seems determined to duel with him to the death. The reason for Deighnton's animosity seems to run deeper than a simple exchange of insults. Jack is abducted following the Battle of Bareilly and is accused in his absence of desertion. He has to fight to clear his name - only to find Deighnton waiting for yet another, perhaps final, duel...
