Publisher's Synopsis
I can easily recall the little room in which I sat, poring over my next day‟s lessons. It was in one end of the attic of our modest cottage, and the only room "done off" ups-tairs. The sloping side walls, that followed the lines of the roof, were bare except for the numerous pictures of yachts and other sailing craft with which I had plastered them from time to time. There was a bed at one side and a small deal table at the other, and over the little window was a shelf whereon I kept my meager collection of bo-oks.
