These have been in the form of broadcasted signals, space-time capsules and collections of various oddities deposited upon other astronomical bodies, all cast across the higher frontier for imagined, exotic audiences. Surveying and cataloguing the variety of these artifacts through a series of essays and photos, this collection chronicles the changing relationships, customs and assumptions that stem from these pieces of residual material culture.
