The author, a former senior executive of the present Spode Company, provides information on the different classes of the factory's famous products during this period. He draws on primary sources of information at the Spode factory and the papers of Henry Daniel, Spode II's enameller.;The book includes nearly 350 drawings of Spode shapes and a pattern dating chart, which enables the approximate date of introduction of any Spode pattern to be traced by its number.
