Publisher's Synopsis

Sprocket loves his human family very much and is eager to find ways to help with work around
their home. Every chore he tries to do ends with no success in helping them. Sprocket finally
finds the reason he is important in the family and knows they love him as much as he loves
them. He learns that being himself is his job. This delightful story is entertaining and can also
be used to teach rhyming word, adjectives, character traits, and self-esteem.

Elaine Martin Rodgers has loved creating ever since she was a child. Working with wood, building and
decorating doll houses, sewing, painting, and gardening are just a few of the ways she has expressed her
creative side. She taught elementary school for thirty-five plus years before retiring. Lessons in her
classroom were laced with art to motivate and keep the interest of her students. Writing children's
books seems to combine two of her loves, creating art and creating ways to teach children. She is now
working to bring to life the children's books she has written in the past ten years. Some stories just
pop in her head and other books are based on true family stories. Elaine received her BSEd and MEd in
Elementary Education from the University of Georgia. She is married and has two daughters.
