Andrew Merrick becomes aware of a mysterious young woman not only following him, but also threatening to force her way into his dreams. And what brings her to his wedding to Judith? Still trying to shake off the after-effects of crippling injuries which forced him to quit his career as a detective inspector, Andrew finds shadows from the past returning to plague him. Two old acquaintances meet hideous deaths; and after his wedding and a poisonous attack on the bride, a third disappears.
