When Kate Sloane was struck by lightening, she stopped talking, but strange things began to happen. Her mother Minnie Sloane was worried about her and tried everything she could think of to help her daughter. Whenever Minnie wished for something, somehow it cam about, and she was certain Kate was responsible. When people started disappearing, Minnie became more worried than ever. Even the town stopped talking to them and called in the soldiers for martial lawl.
