Ras Makonnen and his beautiful wife Wayzaro Yashimabet have been very unlucky. They have lost all of their precious children, and this makes them sad. Wayzaro Yashimabet's greatest wish is to have a healthy child to live in their palace. At last, their prayers are answered, but there is famine on the land. The rain has stopped, the crops are not growing, and everyone is hungry. However, on a stormy night, amidst lightning, thunder and rain, Wayzaro Yashimabet has a baby boy. His birth signals the end of a gloomy period and the beginning of hope and happiness. At his baptism, he is given a secret name which is never revealed until his coronation. But first, he must use his wisdom to get through the good and bad times.
