Publisher's Synopsis
This book outlines the various ways to view the Tao in the Taoist Tradition and beyond that tradition as relates to nature, being, physics, and almost everything. The emphasis is on the direct experience - perception of the foundation of the Tao of Reality in the Life-of-Life, that is, the immediacy and concreteness of living close to nature based on direct experiences of the running stream and the moving wind which reflect, in a general way, the Tao-of-Reality. A focus was on John Blofeld, the Western Taoist-Buddhist who lived and wrote about his experiences with the old authentic Taoists in the mountains whose genuine nature and deep sense of reality showed in their eyes-and- manner which reflected being, not having, and experience, not intellection.
