Winnie McWillams, a young bank teller, was wrongly accused of providing information about a secret bank deposit to the Cowsert Gang of robbers. Facing a conviction and lengthy prison sentence, she escaped jail, cut her red hair and further disguised herself as a man whom she named Wynn McWilson. Riding her late father's purple roan stallion, she left a trail of dead would-be gunfighters across the Southwest as she searched for Tom Cowsert and his gang of outlaws. She earned the name of the Terror on a Purple Stallion.
