Publisher's Synopsis
A man takes a trip to a wheat field in Auners-sur-Oise, France, on July, 27, 1890, with the intention of helping Vincent Van Gogh kill himself. When Van Gogh asks who he is, the stranger simply replies, "Why not paint my portrait?"-thus turning time on its heels as the fictional biography leaps into the Parisian art world of Cézanne, Apollinaire, and Picasso.
