In the aftermath of a mayor's assassination, things are beginning to look up for Emperia. Jessie Sparrow, the son of the former mayor of Riverburn, takes matters into his own hands in order to even attempt to fix the mess that devastated his home. More things arise as Jessie uncovers more secrets and lies that had been kept from him and Emperia entirely. It tore him apart to know that everything that he had ever believed was a lie. and now Jessie is faced with all of the other empires. Everything rests on his shoulder now. He gets to call the shots, but all Jessie can think is: "How could I have been so stupid?"
