Donnie was sitting on a plane bound for Las Vegas when it hit turbulence and dropped from the sky. All around him people panicked and bags flung from the cabinets. He watched the sky and ground swap places again and again in the windows. I'm going to die, he thought. I'm going to die before I see Alice. Before I can find out if she loves me. Then he sees the portal. It races up to meet him. It swallows him and throws him through time-through space-through alternate dimensions-from ocean to deserts-from dreams to nightmares. He is the boy unstuck in time, and he is searching for the girl that he loves.
