Publisher's Synopsis

Three humorous courtroom dramas about the life, escapades and legal exploits of Bruce West, a young, successful Baltimore attorney, in a single volume. In the first novel, "A lawyer's Revenge," Bruce represents a client accused of rape. Not only does his client offer a preposterous alibi, but he stiffs Bruce for his fee. As the heat of the courtroom drama unfolds, Bruce is overcome by his compulsion to win, despite his determination to exact revenge. In "Conspiracy," Bruce represents a middle aged couple who are accused by the FBI of conspiring with an elected government official to conduct a fraudulent marriage ring in violation of the nation's immigration laws. Bruce engages upon a very risky strategy for their defense which could have career-threatening consequences and could result in long prison sentences for his clients if he is unsuccessful. In "Mistaken Identity,", Bruce is retained by a prostitute to represent her son who has been arrested and charged with an armed robbery. Despite his client's prior history of convictions for similar offenses and the positive identification by the victim, Bruce is convinced that the victim is mistaken about the identity of the person who robbed her. From the first interview through the conclusion of the trial, Bruce finds himself dodging the determined efforts of his client's mother to trade her services for his fee.
