This is the TV tie-in edition of Edith Wharton's novel. Set in the 1870s, it tells of five American beauties whose riches are too nouveau to open the doors of New York society. They set off instead for London. Edith Wharton also wrote "The Age of Innocence", "The House of Mirth" and "Ethan Frome".
