When her friend, the gentle enigmatic actor, George Arden, is forced to flee for his life, she enlists the help of a slightly unwilling Dr Watson. Aided - and sometimes hindered - by a strangely compelling young man by the name of Aleister Crowley, along with his flamboyant lover Jerome Pollitt, they join forces to investigate a dark, complex plot, encompassing ancient myth and brewing occult forces.
