Jacey Forestar spends her time mostly in seclusion, writing romance novels, perpetually lost in her own literary worlds of ghosts and dashing heroes. She is also troubled with a curse many people would call a gift. After she finds out her childhood friend has been brutally murdered, disturbing visions and dreams become more frequent, and she decides to return to her hometown of Poplar Hill.
While searching for answers about her friend's murder, Jacey meets Morgan DeArmand, and for the first time in her life, she falls in love.
