Publisher's Synopsis
This is a story about Ukraine exacting revenge against Russia and a bomb, not just any bomb, a gigantic hydrogen bomb.
In 1961 Russia built and exploded the biggest thermonuclear weapon in the world, a monster 58 Megaton bomb, over 3000 times larger than the bombs that blew up Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Actually, the Russians secretly built two of the weapons and stored the second one in a nuclear storage facility where it remained for 28 years safely and eventually nearly forgotten. In 1989 as retaliation for all the horrific abuses and suffering Ukraine had endured from Russia, Ukrainian conscripts stationed at the facility decided to steal the bomb and use it to destroy Moscow. Although the conscripts amazingly were successful in acquiring the bomb, they, unfortunately, could not detonate it, and they leave it hidden. It isn't until 2022 Russia finally discovered to their horror that the old giant bomb was missing and eventually determined those responsible had immigrated to the USA. To assist their investigation in finding the bomb, Putin called our President and requested the help of the FBI to locate the criminals. At the President's request, the FBI assigned a top field agent, Peter Kanowsky, who is of Ukrainian descent, to oversee the search team in the USA. Unfortunately, during his investigation, Peter not only learned the location of the bomb and how to set it off, but he was also turned mentally and emotionally by his repeated exposure to hearing the ongoing litany of the suffering that Russia had imposed upon Ukraine. Yielding to the persuasive coercion from the emigres he interviewed, and the encouragement of his own family, Peter ultimately decided it was his duty and obligation to his Ukrainian ancestry to go to Moscow and personally set off the bomb. Surprisingly Peter ended up having a lot of help, as his plans meshed almost perfectly with the machinations of an ongoing high-level Russian plot. What was different about their plan versus his? Peter wanted to set off the bomb immediately, and they wanted him to wait three months for the perfect time, during the big celebration in Moscow of Putin's 70th birthday, to make sure every one of importance was in town. With the help of a beautiful and sexy lady to keep him happy, they persuaded him to wait. So - the ending is, Happy Birthday President Putin from Ukraine, or maybe not?
