His maternal grandmother's desperate cry for help for the poor boy results in his distant uncle, Black, migrating a young KD to the United States for a better life.
KD goes on to endure the struggles of growing up and adjusting to the conditions of his new home, ultimately stumbling down the wrong path during his early adult ages. KD's struggles continue as he finds himself becoming a product of the crime-infested neighborhood he grew up in. Developing an unbreakable bond with Juan "Dolla" Sanchez and Roberto "Poundz" Sanchez, friends from his childhood neighborhood, KD embarks on a quest to achieve success in the drug game at all costs. With unshaken loyalty, love, and trust among them, and a strong backing, the young men take the streets of New York by storm.
