Publisher's Synopsis

From the Introduction: "The very first "house" where God manifested His presence was in the Garden House or Eden. As time moved forward, He designed a Tent House or Tabernacle, to be used in the desert, a portable shrine where the very first elements of service and worship were instituted. When the Tabernacle was no longer used, an enormous Stone House or Temple took its place. Embedded within both these ancient structures are patterns for worship and for service, ways and ideas still relevant today for organizing our daily lives as children of God. These patterns do not lead us into ritualistic behavior but studied in light of New Testament teaching provide beautiful visual images given to us in glorious detail by God Himself. Looking forward in Old Testament writings, these houses of the past point to Christ; now, looking backwards, they provide wonderful markers along the way for developing and maintaining our daily lives as followers of Christ in the House of God today. God is in the process of creating His master building project-and it is two-fold. First God chooses to live within each believer-to create a "house within," made from "living stones." It is here, in our minds and hearts, that He dwells "in our midst...".But there is more, a second part to this building program. Collectively, we are being built into a far greater entity-a place of unending beauty and incalculable depth: He is fashioning us into a kingdom of priests and royal servants, brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ. And when this house is completed, God Himself will live in our midst-we will form His royal household-forever. Our joy, and His, will be complete... because He will have all His children living around Him at last."
